Bro Daino founded M.I.R.A.C.L.E. (Marianist Institute of Rural Artisans for Christian Life Education) in 1999 in Karonga, Malawi. Orphans dominate the villages there. In Africa, AIDS has taken the parents from nine million children. MIRACLE is a two-year technical school for dropouts who have lost their parents due to the AIDS epedemic. The Mission of M.I.R.A.C.L.E. is to give poor youth in Karonga trade skills appropriate for the rural market as well as life skills for a virtuous life. Both – trade skills and life skills – will enable young people to earn an income and to raise Christ-centered families.
