Kasulu Bible College, Tanzania

Emmanuel Bwatta ta is a priest and teacher at the Kasulu Bible College in Tanzania. He is a guest of All Saints’, Atlanta for six weeks and this next week he is a guest in the home of Richard Hall in Atlanta.

Richard Hall is a past trustee of SPCK/USA and was the Treasurer/Secretary for many years. His parish, All Saints, Atlanta, gave funding to SPCK/USA in 2003 to ship books to Kasulu Bible College. With the help of the seminarians we put together a shipment of over 434 books, with a value of $2420.00. These books arrived at the college in 2004. It was wonderful to be able to meet Emmanuel and take him to see the warehouse firsthand. While there he made a selection of 35 books to be sent to him in Tanzania.

Emmanuel is interested in furthering his education in the US so our missions committee thought a Sewanee visit might help. You will find Emmanuel very charming and his English is good. He’s been teaching a Swahili class at All Saints’ to a few brave souls.
