The Adopt-A-Seminary Program has the opportunity to work with three dioceses to help seminaries in third world countries:

CHURCH OF NORTH INDIA, ANGLICAN DIOCESE OF DURGAPUR needs books for their theological seminary. We hope to be working with The Rev Brent Norris and the Diocese of Western North Carolina (who has a companion relationship with Durgapur). This undertaking is in the planning stages.

DIOCESE OF LITORAL, ECUADOR. Patti Joy Posan, Executive Director of SPCK/USA, recently had lunch with The Rt Rev Aldredo Morantes and George Kurz of the Diocese of Tennessee, who has a companion relationship with Litoral. There is a great need at the theological school in Litoral for theology books in Spanish, as well as a need for Spanish Prayer Books for the churches. We are hoping to work with the Diocese of Tennessee during Lent to raise awareness of the needs in the Diocese of Litoral.

DIOCESE OF CENTRAL TANGANYIKA, TANZANIA. The Diocese of Atlanta is collecting books to help with the education of seminarians in Dodoma, Tanzania, as well as cash donations to purchase study Bibles. The Rev. Dr. Paul A. Elliott, rector of St. Michael and All Angels, Stone Mountain, is coordinating the effort. SPCK/USA has been in contact with Father Elliott and will work with him in selecting books from the Adopt-A-Seminary warehouse to ship to Dodoma.
