A Letter from St Francis Anglican Mission in South Dakota
“As Ray Stevens would say, ‘It’s me again, Margaret.’ We have passed our 1979 Prayer Books on to several mission stations on the reservations, and I wondered if SPCK could located pew editions of the 1928 Book of Common Prayer. We have decided to use it (it’s canonical for our province) and although I have the liturgy computer-generated, it would be well for us to have the full book. Also, a Book of Occasional Services would help us greatly. We are still a small house-church, holding at around 6-8. Pray for us.
Thanks again for all that you are doing.”

Chip Johnson+, cj
SPCK/USA shipped Fr Johnson 20 beautiful 1928 Prayer Books, in excellent condition, which had been donated to us by Thankful Memorial Church, Chattanooga, TN.
(A footnote to this … Fr Johnson wrote back when hearing that the 1928 Prayer Books were from Thankful Memorial, “I am related by marriage (my mother’s) to Union General Abraham Malone Johnson, who came back to Chattanooga after the War of the Northern Aggression and settled in St Elmo, founding Thankful Memorial Church as a memorial for his wife.”)Â
